Act of Consecration to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, living and life-giving fountain of eternal life, infinite treasury of the Divinity, and glowing furnace of love, Thou art my refuge and my sanctuary. O adorable and glorious Savior, consume my heart with that burning fire that ever inflames Thy Heart. Pour down on my soul those graces that flow from Thy love. Let my heart be so united with Thine, that our wills may be one, and mine may in all things be conformed to Thine. May Thy will be the rule of both my desires and my actions. Merciful Jesus, I consecrate the Personal Consultations Department of The National Catholic Bioethics Center to Thy Most Sacred Heart this day and always. I entrust to Thy Sacred Heart, in its fullness of goodness and love, all those who contact us for guidance in accomplishing Thy divine will in their lives. Thy most patient and passionate Heart burns with unquenchable love for them. The dearth of sound teaching in our times, the complexities of ever-advancing technologies, and the cold depersonalization rampant in health care and biomedical research cause confusion and distress for those who seek to know and live the Truth. Thy Heart alone can offer perfect answers to each of Thy children, for it contains all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Thy Heart alone can impel right action, for it is the abyss of all virtues. Thy Heart alone can bring peace to troubled souls, for it is the source of all consolation.
O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, fountain of life and holiness, grant that the names of all who provide, support, or benefit from personal consultations through The National Catholic Bioethics Center may be engraved upon Thy Heart forever. May their hearts be aflame with the fire of Thy charity, may their heads rest gently on the beating font of Thy wisdom, and may their actions make Thy Father well pleased.
Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Thine!
