The Troubadour: “Bioethics Specialist Discusses the Ethics of In Vitro Fertilization”

The NCBC’s Father Tad was featured in a March 3, 2020, news story by The Troubadour, the student newspaper of Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH:

“What we have going on here is actually a form of discrimination against certain humans,” Pacholczyk said. 

Pacholczyk provided six objections — that IVF undermines the meaning of sex, the issue of frozen embryos, the requirement of masturbation to obtain sperm, the introduction of a third party which violates the exclusivity of sex, the risk of multiples and the elevated risk of birth defects — that explain the reasons why Catholics should oppose IVF.
