Deseret News: “What's a ‘Pro-Life Vaccine’ and Why Do These Faith Leaders Say We Need One for COVID-19?"
The NCBC’s John Di Camillo was quoted in a May 19, 2020, story by Jennifer Graham at Deseret News:
Abortion opponents who object to what they call “ethically problematic” cell lines note that vaccines can be developed with insect cells or adult stem cells.
“Nobody should be developing vaccines using these [ethically problematic] cell lines. Period,” said John Di Camillo, staff ethicist for the National Catholic Bioethics Center in Philadelphia.
People troubled by the practice have a moral duty to lobby for “other, sound alternatives,” Di Camillo said.
