Sacred Heart Novena Announcement

May 2024

June is the month of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus!

It is also the 350th anniversary of the second and third apparitions of Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, requesting that the Heart of God be honored under the form of His heart of flesh and teaching her the First Friday devotion.

The personal consultations department of The National Catholic Bioethics Center invites you to join us in a novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus starting on May 29th!

In his recent address celebrating this jubilee of the Sacred Heart apparitions, Pope Francis reminded us of one reason the work of The National Catholic Bioethics Center is so important:

“How many tears still flow on the face of God, while our world experiences so much abuse against the dignity of the person . . .”

He also recalled the importance of reparation throughout Sacred Scripture, reminding the faithful that “this beautiful practice of the reparation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus . . . may be somewhat forgotten or wrongly judged obsolete.”

Join us as we make reparations for the offenses against His Sacred Heart, in particular for violations of the dignity of the human person in health care and biomedical research.

We will honor the Heart of Jesus and request these three particular graces:

  1. Prudence, peace, and consolation of the hearts of all patients, families, friends, health care professionals, clergy, and others who are aided by the NCBC's personal consultations.

  2. 10% growth in NCBC’s ethics consultation numbers.

  3. Donations of at least $125,000 to help support NCBC's free consultation service.

We look forward to joining with you in prayer to secure the graces needed to carry out our mission

Gratefully in His Sacred Heart,

John A. Di Camillo, PhD, BeL

Personal Consultations Director & Ethicist

O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, fountain of life and holiness, grant that the names of all who provide, support, or benefit from personal consultations through The National Catholic Bioethics Center may be engraved upon Thy Heart forever.
